Small Beginnings. Bigger Destinies.

Prologue

Not the dragons remembered in children's stories or carved into old stone walls.

These dragons were guardians of something ancient.

Something powerful.

Something the world eventually forgot.

This was The Drowned Kingdom.

Moonlit ruins of the Drowned Kingdom reflected in still water, blue flames glowing in broken arches

Chapter I

The Drowned Kingdom

Centuries ago, the Drowned Kingdom stood above a vast stretch of moonlit water.

Its towers rose high into the clouds. Great bridges connected its temples, halls, and sanctuaries. Dragons filled the skies above it, while blue flames burned throughout the kingdom without ever consuming the stone around them.

At the heart of the kingdom existed an ancient energy known simply as:

The Blue Flame.

Nobody knew exactly where it came from. Some believed it was the first flame ever breathed by a dragon. Others believed it was something older than dragons themselves.

Whatever its origin, the dragons protected it.

The Blue Flame was not ordinary fire.

  • It did not burn.
  • It did not fade.
  • It did not die.

It pulsed beneath the kingdom like a heartbeat.

And for generations, the dragons believed it would burn forever.

They were wrong.

Chapter II

The Fall

Something happened to the Drowned Kingdom. Exactly what caused its destruction has been lost to time.

i
Some legends speak of war.
ii
Others tell of betrayal from within the kingdom.
iii
There are stories of an enemy searching for the Blue Flame, and of dragons fighting until the skies themselves burned.

But whatever happened, the kingdom fell.

  1. Its towers shattered.
  2. Its bridges collapsed.
  3. The water rose.
  4. And one by one, the dragons disappeared.

The kingdom that once ruled the skies slowly sank beneath the mist and water.

Eventually, nothing remained but broken towers, forgotten ruins, and stories nobody believed anymore.

A single dark dragon egg with faint blue markings resting on a stone pedestal beneath a full moon, surrounded by ruined towers
  • The world moved on.
  • The dragons became legends.
  • The Blue Flame disappeared.
  • And the Drowned Kingdom was forgotten.

Or so everyone thought.

Chapter III

The Moonwell

Deep beneath the ruins was a sanctuary the flood never reached. An ancient chamber hidden below the kingdom.

At its center sat a perfectly still pool of water reflecting a soft blue light. This place was known as The Moonwell.

The Moonwell had been built long before the fall of the kingdom. Only a small number of dragons were ever allowed inside. Its purpose was never fully understood.

But hidden within the chamber was something that would eventually change everything.

An egg. One single dragon egg.

Dark as midnight. Covered in faint blue markings. Waiting beside the Moonwell.

The egg had not been forgotten. It had been hidden.

Someone had placed it there intentionally. Someone knew the kingdom was going to fall. And whatever was inside that egg was meant to survive.

Chapter IV

The Sleeping Flame

For centuries, nothing happened. The ruins remained silent. The Moonwell remained still. The egg did not move.

Then something changed.

Far beneath the ruins, a faint blue glow appeared. The Blue Flame had returned.

At first it was barely visible. Then the glow became stronger. Ancient markings carved into the walls of the Moonwell began lighting up one after another. Symbols that had been dark for hundreds of years suddenly awakened.

And every mark pointed toward the same thing. The egg.

The closer the Blue Flame grew, the brighter the markings on the egg became.

Something inside was waking up.

Chapter V

The Ancient Marks

Across the ruins of the Drowned Kingdom, forgotten symbols began appearing. On broken towers. Inside flooded temples. Across ancient stone doors.

Marks that had survived centuries beneath the water suddenly began glowing electric blue.

Nobody knew what they meant. But together they appeared to form a path. A path leading deeper into the kingdom. Back toward the Moonwell. Back toward the egg.

And at the end of that path stood one final barrier.

The Last Seal.

Chapter VI

The Last Seal

The Last Seal had protected the Moonwell since the fall of the kingdom. No one knew who created it. No one knew what waited behind it.

But when the Blue Flame finally reached its full strength, the seal began to crack.

One fracture. Then another.

Blue light poured through the stone. The ancient symbols surrounding the Moonwell began glowing brighter than ever before.

And then…

The Last Seal broke.

For the first time in centuries, the hidden chamber opened. The egg began to crack.

A tiny charcoal hatchling dragon with bright blue eyes perched on a mossy stone pedestal between broken eggshells, mist curling through the ruins

Chapter VII

The Hatch

The first crack appeared across the shell. Then another.

Blue energy poured through each fracture like lightning.

The Moonwell began to glow. The Blue Flame surged through the chamber.

And from the egg emerged something very small.

A hatchling.

  • Dark charcoal scales covered his body.
  • Electric-blue energy moved between the cracks in his scales.
  • His wings glowed with the same blue light that had once filled the kingdom.
  • Two curved horns rose from his head.
  • And when his eyes finally opened… they burned bright blue.

After centuries of silence… a dragon had returned.

His name was:

The heart of Project Smol $SMOLDRAGON

A small dragon silhouette in thick fog, only its glowing blue eyes visible

Chapter VIII

The Last Dragon?

  • Smidge doesn't know why his egg was hidden.
  • He doesn't know who placed him inside the Moonwell.
  • He doesn't know what destroyed the Drowned Kingdom.
  • And he doesn't know why the Blue Flame awakened him now.

He only knows one thing.

Something inside the ruins is calling him.

The kingdom may have fallen. The dragons may have disappeared. But their story isn't finished.

Because Smidge is here. And he has a lot of growing left to do.

Chapter IX

The Den

Smidge may have awakened alone… but he didn't stay alone.

As his story began spreading beyond the ruins, people started gathering around him. Different backgrounds. Different countries. Different reasons for being there.

  • Some came for the memes.
  • Some came for the story.
  • Some came because they simply liked the little dragon.

And some stayed because they found something they hadn't expected: a community. That community became known as The Den.

The Den isn't built around where someone comes from, how much they hold, or how early they arrived. It's built around the idea that something small can become something much larger when enough people believe in it and help build it together.

Smidge may be the heart of Project Smol. But the Den is what gives that heart somewhere to belong.

Chapter X

The Evolution of Smidge

Smidge begins his journey as a hatchling. Small. Curious. Still discovering what he is capable of. But the Blue Flame inside him is growing.

As Project Smol reaches new chapters, Smidge will evolve with it. His appearance will change. His strength will increase. More of the Drowned Kingdom will be revealed. And each evolution will unlock another piece of the story.

Chapter XI

The Mystery Continues

Many questions remain unanswered.

  1. Who placed Smidge's egg inside the Moonwell?
  2. What really destroyed the Drowned Kingdom?
  3. Where did the other dragons go?
  4. What exactly is the Blue Flame?
  5. Why did it awaken now?

And most importantly…

Was Smidge really the only egg that survived?

Those answers will come as the story continues. Because Project Smol was never meant to have every answer on day one. The community is watching the story unfold alongside Smidge.

One discovery.One evolution.One chapter at a time.

Chapter XII

What Project Smol Represents

Project Smol is built around a simple idea:

Everything big
starts small.

  1. A kingdom can begin with one stone.
  2. A community can begin with one person.
  3. A story can begin with one egg.
  4. And a tiny hatchling can someday become something legendary.

Smidge isn't powerful because he started at the top.

His story matters because he didn't.

He has to grow. He has to learn. He has to keep moving forward. Just like the community growing around him.

That's the meaning behind Project Smol.

Not where you begin.
But what you can become.
